France achieves 150,000 electric charging points
France has expanded their charging infrastructure across the country, now reaching 150,000 charging points, increasing their amount of points by 35% in one year.

Having proper access to charging infrastructure is crucial for customers when transitioning to electric. France had a slow start in the beginning of implementing charging stations, but today they are averaging at 223 charging points per 100,000 inhabitants, with a 94% availability rate. A barometer done by Avere France showed different statistics on locations of charging points, usage, and technical data of charging points in France. Here is a breakdown of charging points per region :

Options and availability
Charging stations are still scarce around France, but the three-phase alternating current chargers ranging between 7.4 and 22 kW, are prospering. BtoB charging in alternating current (AC) currently costs € 0.70 /kWh, and direct current (DC) charging costs € 0.47 /kWh. Charging points in France were also found to have a 95% immediate access rate for at least 1 point, giving the user a direct charging option.
